End of Microsoft Windows XP
The long-running Windows XP Operating system now comes to it’s end. Microsoft said it will let some computer makers continue preinstalling Windows XP Home on systems until June 30, 2010 or until a year after Microsoft rolls out the next version of its operating system named Windows 7, which applies only in specific category of mobile hardware. This new version of windows is the Microsoft’s answer for the users and hardware vendors demand on running XP in low-cost laptops like the “Asustek Eee PC”.
While Windows XP Professional goes away on the dates Microsoft has already set for ending sales starting this year. Dix, the General Manager of Windows Client Product Management, also said that “There is no plan to extend sales of other editions of Windows XP beyond June 30, 2008″.
